Entry requirements

  • Students who have completed 10+2 can appear in NTPT (National Tax Proficiency Test) conducted by ICTAI in selected cities in India for admission.
  • Bachelor of Commerce with minimum 45% marks in aggregate.
  • CA/CS/CMA/LL.B or its equivalent qualification

Course content

The CTA Training Program includes six mandatory examined units:

  • Direct Tax (Level-Basic Knowledge)
  • Indirect Tax (Level-Basic Knowledge)
  • Direct Tax (Level-Working Knowledge)
  • Indirect Tax(Level-Working Knowledge)
  • Direct Tax(Level-Expert Knowledge)
  • Indirect Tax(Level-Expert Knowledge)


The Six units are assessed by exam. Each exam is three hours long and is made up of short and long answer questions. Exam questions include computations, preparation and interpretation of taxation laws.The exams sittings are in July and January.


The overall cost of the programme will depend on the mode of study you choose. However, you will need to pay student fees to the Institute.
